RUGBY: ZIM RHODESIA Vs WESTERN PROVINCE
Skatie Fourie Writes:-

Heres to your question on the rugby score, I can give you the Zim /Rhod vs Western Province played in Salisbury.

A try in those days was still 4 points.

W.P beat us 32 -18, Norman Mellett and Kevin Eveleigh the New Zealander scored our tries. Leroy Duberly converted both and popped over two penelties

Another player missed by you was Steve Graham ( 37 LAR) and also a Cranborne Boy (Headboy). So we hab 3 Cranborne/air force okes playing. On the bench was B. Authers I am sure he was air force as well...... will check wit Jerry !!
Thanks for the memory

Dave Jackson Writes:-

I do also notice Mike Wright (M Wright) - 39LAR Air Electrics as reserve for Zim/Rhod U/19. Mike is also son of Gordon Wright (FYI).

And yes, that is (the late) Mark Cavers-white (39LAR Armourer) who was prop for the same team.

Comment by Eddy Norris Gordon Wright also represented Rhodesia at Rugby
